Telling A Story with Unique Vintage Stock
Were you raised with unique, vintage items in your home? By the way, items are considered Vintage when they are at least 20 years old. Antiques are considered "antiques" when they are at least 100 years old. Now, with automobiles that definition is different. Back to the story...
My life was greatly influenced by my mother who shopped at rummage sales & yard sales. She would seek out good deals for our family, such as used clothing possibly including an old item that she purchased because she liked it, & thought it was a good deal.
As the sixth of seven children, money wasn't very plentiful in our home. Much of my younger, growing up years, my mother stayed home (great for us) which meant one income...my dad's. He was a hard worker & always provided for his family but we needed to budget.
Then, my mother started going to a "Rummage Sale" in town. Later on, yard sales became very popular which she thoroughly enjoyed going to. Then, I started going to yard sales & really got hooked on thrift shopping. Hence, my collection of vintage treasures GREW! Now, I have a shop on Etsy.com where you can visit to see many of those Etsy vintage finds.
Did you know that Wall Art tells a Story? It is very popular & does not have to be a painting or a print. Items, such as Vintage Ceramic Plates/Trays, etc. can be displayed as wall art. Many young people want a China Cabinet like grandma had where items can be proudly displayed.
Most people don't seem to lose the desire to look & feel something that is old from the past. The interest is there! There are so many rich, extraordinary stories that can be heard about vintage items. Does this sound familiar...
"Look at that! My Grandpa had one of those! How cool is that! May I hold it? Can you imagine the time it took to make that? How old is that? Where did you get it?"
Now, concerning the 4chicksvintage name...I met 4 wonderful girls from the ages of 5 - 11 years old through a ministry of the church I attend. Their family cultural language is Spanish, & the word "Chica" means 'girl'.
I mentored these girls & learned a lot about their culture. I was a blessing to them, & they were & are a blessing to me. I taught them that being thrifty & saving money was good. Thence, the name 4chicksvintage was created. The name "Crat" was derived from the first letter of their names, Cindy, Rosa, Aracely & Thalia.
Will you give vintage a chance? By buying vintage, we can help "clogging up" our landfills & the environment besides preserving a piece of history in the process for our pleasure & future generations.
